The NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 GF-GO7600-H-N-B1 is a middle class video card of the 7000 series and suited for current games (in 2006). It offers a good relation of performance and heat. The performance is very similar to ATI X1600. Compared to the desktop 7600, Go 7600 offers 8 instead of 12 pixel-pipelines and therefore is clearly slower. The NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 GT was found in the Sony Vaio AR11 17" laptop. The graphic card has 12 pixel pipelines (instead of 8) and therefore resembles the desktop 7600. The successor, the GeForce 8600M GT is a noticeable faster card with DirectX 10 hardware support. The GeForce Go 7600 laptop-graphics card features a so called PureVideo Engine, which is capable of hardware acceleration of H.264 (not as fast as the 8600M series), WMV, and MPEG-2 videos. Some of the 128 MB equipped models offer only a 64 bit memory interface, which leads to drastic losses of performance. According to some messages the 256 MB version in Samsung R55 results only 3900 points in 3DMark03. This indicates a 64 bit memory bus.
